Pirates Recall Jim Waugh PITTSBURGH, Pa., June 27 UP.— The Pittsburgh Pirates recalled Jim Waugh, 21-year-old righthanded pitcher, today from Burlington of the Carolina League where he has been playing under option. At the same time, the Pirates announced the- optioning of Jack Shepard, rookie catcher signed last week following his graduation from Stanford, to Denver of the Western League.
