Barts Enegry Strives To Make Amends Today Beaten Choice at Cranwood Park Last Out Goes in Feature Event CRANWOOD PARK, Warrensville Heights, Ohio, June 27. — The best race on Mondays nine-race program here at Cranwood will be the eighth race, which will see a limit field of 10 match strides at six and one-half furlongs for the major share of the ,500 purse. Most of the horses entered have had good races over the track and it appears to be a-wide open event. The sixth race at one mile and one-sixteenth and the seventh event, over seven furlongs, also shape up as interesting races. The feature has attracted the following: Barts Enegry, Claridge, Where Now, Bub-blestream, Dark Ned, French Rocket, Dance Routine, Reinspect, Grand Pose, Sickle Star, and, one the also-eligible list, Besiege, • i. v jia ran- Pipcon, Jack Carroll and Santow. C. B. Goochs Bartys Enegry, who will be ridden by Ralph Hightshoe, should make amends for his poor showing here 10 days ago when, after grabbing the early lead, he flattened out badly on the backstretch, finishing "dead last." He was the overwhelming favorite and should receive a great deal of the play in this event. Before that race, he was second to Carters Pride, beaten a neck at six panels. In that event, the Gooch colorbearer was bothered on the backstretch by Roaming Oscar and it not only cost him the race but 10 days for Roaming Oscars pilot, Eugene CKeefe. Claridge turned in a good effort here on June 23 while meeting several members of this field and ran second behind Lundi at six furlongs. The son of Alorter closed willingly and was only beaten three parts of a length for all the money. He should like the extra sixteenth of a mile and figures to be right there at the wire. Dance Routine is from the strong Dorchester Farm unit and their racers can usually be counted on for a good effort.
