MONACOAN was steadily urged into closer contention, lost distance circling rivals on the turn, but closed fast when straightened into the stretch and won rapidly going away. TIME BREAK stumbled at the break, recovered quickly while entering contention next to the rail, found room to lodge a strong challenge entering the stretch, but then could not stay with the winner. TITANS MATCH was hustled along vying for the pace, could not shake off the rivals and slightly weakened. TURKISH GOLD, restrainted behind the first flight early, came between horses and finished well. JOHN KAPLAN and MIGHTY ROAN were outrun. SAUCY COLLEEN was a keen early factor, then pulled up lame. SWAMP REBEL quickly raced into a clear lead rounding the far turn, drifted out badly while tiring under punishment in the drive, but held ALL SAINT safe. The latter, taken in hand while bearing out on the far turn, saved ground on the stretch turn, but then came to the outside of the winner and, while being forced beyond the middle of the course, could not get up. AIR COLONEL raced wide from the beginning and could not get up. JEANOC rallied but mildly. WICKS STAR was being rated with the first flight when ALL SAINT crossed out in front of him entering the stretch, and he then faltered. MOUCHE was outrun. PREXY MAC raced extremely wide. ZELDA FAY raced on the outside of GIN MINT and was under brisk handling throughout to retain her advantage over that rival. GIN MINT raced gamely in company "with the winner, was never a serious threat to that one, but remained safely the best of the others. MONTE ALTO lacked early foot, then raced around horses and finished well to gain her placing. NASCALLA was a forward factor and weakened. MISS KEN weakened gradually. BOGIE MISS was in close quarters at the far turn. ANNSEL broke poorly. MISTEMAR showed nothing. RED GOLD WAS FRACTIOUS AND INJURED HERSELF IN THE GATE. TOKYO GIRL was well placed, had to steer outside of GUIDED BOMB to challenge in the last eighth, then gamely wrested the decision. GUIDED BOMB was hustled to the front rounding the turn, drew clear, but slightly drifted out and weakened. PETEY WEE began fast, but weakened in the final run. TEE SHIRT had no mishap. MAUREPAS, steadied early, was tiring in the drive, but respjonded when urged and gamely was up to best HUG UP. The latter raced forwardly placed under pressure on the turn, then tired. MENEMSHA made a rapid move under urging on the turn, raced to the front from the outside, opened a commanding lead and lasted under extreme hand urging while tiring to best HANWAR. The latter showed the most speed early, offered little resistance when displaced by the winner, but came on again gamely in the final drive. WOODLANDS could not reach the early lead while racing on the outside, was steadied rounding the turn, then rallied mildly in the straightaway. ELBERWHIRL raced next to the rail, was in slightly close quarters on the stretch turn and was steered between horses to, finish well. JUNE FETE raced between horses while vying for the early lead, was crowded back by WOODLANDS passing the half mile marker and failed to reach contention thereafter. LORIDALE, slow gaining best stride, rallied strongly from the final turn and wore down contention racing in the middle of the strip to win going away. RAM 0 WAR always within striking distance, was under wraps racing to SONGAI, quickly assumed command when roused entering the last three-sixteenths, then loafed and just lasted over MARKED GAME. The latter, unhurried while far back and trailing, ran up behind horses and was steered into an opening "on the final turn, then worked to the outside and finished fast. SONGAI was under pressure to shake off MI-MARIGOLD after the start held sway into the stretch and faltered when headed. MI-MARIGOLD could not match speed with SONGAI under urging and faltered.
