Lamoureux; bred by O. Phipps. IN GATE-4:53J. OFF AT 4:54 CENTRAL DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. BUMPER CROP was rated well up from the start and, saving ground where possible, headed the field after entering the final eighth to draw out under urging thereafter. PICK AND PLAY was outrun to the stretch, then gained ground gradually. NIGHT-PHARA was closest to SEAWARD in the early running and held on fairly well. ADAMS OFF OX lacked early speed, was rather wide in the stretch and was unable to get up, although finishing well. FORCE OF ARMS xlosed well on the outside. MORBIHAN saved ground entering the stretch. SEAWARD weakened in the run home, although not beaten too badly. CHOMBRO was in close quarters repeatedly while trying to get through on the inside of BUMPER CROP. POWER DRIVE had speed from the start, and after keeping pace with NEAL ELYSE to the stretch, drew but when ready and increased his advantage in the last eighth. LOT-A-FILLY finished fast and gamely to nip MARCY GIRL in the closing strides. MARCY GIRL was never too far away and staged a steady run through the stretch. SPARTAN JETT, badly outrun early, finished very fast on the outside. DEEP WONDER tired near the end. NEAL ELYSE stopped badly. Scratched— 18099 Lovin Lady, 109; 180994 Second Request, 116. MENT POT trailed early, but was under restraint, then came fast in the final quarter to catch MIDAS TOUCH after entering the last sixteenth and win drawing away. The latter went to the front early arid set a good pace while saving ground, but was unable to resist the winner. RIVAS was never too far removed and raced steadily. CHOW CHOW was never a serious contender ALS BOURBON was badly outrun. The others tired. Scratched— 17838 Swadelle, 117. Overweight— Rivas, 1 pound; Chow Chpw, 1, Attendance, 7,922; Total Mutuel Pool, 49,199.
