Rookie Cletus Boyer to Join Kansas City Club This Week KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 31 UP.— Cletus Boyer, 18-year-old infielder signed yesterday by the Kansas City Athletics as the clubs first bonus player, will report to the team "later this week," personnnel director Ray Kennedy said today;. It was understood that the St. Louis Cardinals had been most persistent in attempts to sign the youth, who has played shortstop, second and third base and done some pitching in high school. "The Athletics have made us the best offer and we are happy to accept," the elder Boyer said.
