Young Boyer, brother of Kent Boyer of the St. Louis Cardinals and Cloyd Boyer of the As, -was signed for an amount believed to be approximately 0,000. He drove here yesterday from his home in Alba, Mo., with his father, Vern Boyer, who said 12 major league clubs had sought the six-foot, 170-pound right hander. It was understood that the St. Louis Cardinals had been most persistent in attempts to sign the youth, who has played shortstop, second and third base and done some pitching in high school.
