Hammond Set for Saddle Debut FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., May 31. — Expected to make his riding debut here the latter part of this week is Jerry Hammond, a 16-year-old 100-pounder who hails from Shelbina, Mo. Young Hammond, a brother of Everitt Hammond, a former jockey but now a local trainer, has been galloping horses the past four years and horsemen are predicting a bright career for the youngster. Dr. C. C. Kane, owner of a large stable here -and under the direction of Everitt Hammond, holds the contract on the prospect.
