CORNISHMAN, a bit rank when taken under restraint early, moved through along the inside to attain a clear lead along the backstretch, and responded well when • roused to hold CURRITUCK safe. The latter rallied when hard urged but was not good enough. KARAMU made up ground steadily after being a trailer. MARY PIPER raced evenly. TUNASMAN was never a factor. BLENHEIM TIME was through early, as was MOUNTAIN FOX. ILONKA ran off a short distance while being warmed up during the post parade,, displayed brief speed and was outdistanced. RHY DRESS saved ground on the turn, then lugged in badly after allowing MADCAP MISS to move through in the early stretch.
