Hel ioscope Monmouth Arrival; May Campaign on West Coast OCEANPORT, N. J., June 2.— William G. Helis, Jrs Helioscope, head victor over King Ranchs High Gun in the Suburban Handicap Monday at Belmont Park, arrived at Monmouth Park by van this morning. He was bedded down with patient care by trainer Howard Hausner, who made minute inspections of the stall before selecting quarters for the colt. Helioscope shipped in excellent condition accompanied by several stablemates. Disregarding superstition, Helis shipped a string of 13 thoroughbreds and two jet-black cats. Hausner indicated a decision by Helis, Maurice "Jock" Barshak and himself was imminent whether to ship the four-year-old son of Heliopolis to Hollywood Park for the June 11 running of the 00,000 added Californian. Helioscope carried 128 pounds when he beat High Gun. The Helis camp evidently feels that heavier burdens will be assigned him for the remaining eastern events to which he has been nominated while the rich Californian is an allowance race. It is for three-year-olds and upward, and the highweight limit is 126 pounds. Helioscope has been nominated to three Monmouth Park stakes, the 5,000 added Salvator Mile on June 25, the 5,000 added Omnibus Handicap at nine furlongs on July 20, and the 5,000 added Monmouth Handicap at a mile and a quarter on July 27.
