Giants Call First Baseman From Minneapolis Farm Club NEW YORK, N. Y„ June 2 UP.— The New York Giants, floundering in third place, 10 games behind the leader, today recalled Gail Harris, 23-year-old first baseman, from their Minneapolis farm club in the American Association. To make room for Harris, the Giants optioned utility infielder Billy Gardner to Minneapolis. Harris, a left handed batter and thrower, has a .310 batting average, with 17 home runs and 43 runs batted in for Minneapolis. He won a trial with the Giants this spring after hitting .309 with 113 RBIs at Minneapolis last spring, but was sent back to the Millers so he could play regularly.
