HARVEST TIME took an early lead, made the pace until near the finish, then was unable to hold the winner. SOME FRIEND gave a good effort and had no mishap. TRICKY HOMER, outrun early, responded readily when set down in the drive but could not reach the winner. MISS ETERNAL, forced to race wide entering the stretch, finished well when straightened up for ■ the drive. AMERICAL, showing sudden improvement, reared at the break but recovered quickly under gcod handling, lost ground entering the stretch, then closed determinedly and wore down the leaders in the last sixteenth. NORMANS WEED, snugged repeatedly under a poor-judged ride to the stretch, was permitted to drift out at the turn, finished willingly when clear but was not good enough for the top one. FLATROCK raced forwardly placed to the last eighth mile, then weakened. PRIS took an early lead, made the pace to the final furlong, then gave way. GAMBELLA had a rough trip. IAMREADY showed nothing. CHAR BOOTS, away alertly, was taken in hand after the initial quarter mile and steadied to the stretch, then responded to brisk urging and disposed of the leaders in the last sixteenth. BEST FLEET, never far back, reached the lead between calls during the stretch run and held on gamely but could not withstand the winner and just missed. REVEILLE moved up fast after entering the backstretch, settled for the drive with a short lead, then faltered. GREAT HABIT began sluggishly. SIR CHATTER showed little.
