RAYS PRIDE took an early lead, set the pace to the stretch under steady handling, then-drew clear when ridden out. BOLD BANDIT raced nearest RAYS PRIDE after the start, closed determinedly under urging but could not get to the latter. FREE LUNCH gave a good performance and had no mishap. BIG LOU G. began sluggishly. EMERALD BELLE lacked early foot. ROYCE had a rough race. SIDS BIRTHDAY showed little. LOVELY. D£VIL tired during the stretch run. BOLO BOY, forced to race wide throughout, failed to rally when set down in the drive. POTTERAC was through early. Won driving; second and third the same. FRALUXE, never far back and well ridden, took command during the stretch run but was hard ridden during the late stages to withstand ROYAL SWAN. The latter gradually worked way forward, was kept to the middle of the track for the drive and closed fast but could not overtake the top one, just missing. SIGS ACORN, never far back, went to -the front after disposing of BROWN BUBBLE, settled in the stretch with, a clear lead, then faltered when challenged by FRALUXE. RAYS CONNIE lacked early speed. POWDER BLUE unseated his rider during the post -parade, was returned to the Paddock for a substitute Jockey, and then failed to stay in the running after displaying early foot. BROWN BUBBLE raced with SIGS ACORN to the stretch, then gave way. LADY RAMON could not keep up. WONDER BOY had no mishap. COLONEL SUN was never dangerous. JUST A MOMENT, rank at the post, showed nothing in the running. FIRST GREEK raced MRS. A. B. into defeat after three furlongs, was unable to stay with FIREY IMP, but -easily bested the others. MRS. A. B. had early speed, but failed to stay.
