Taylor Continued from Page One tually she became the richest Canadian-bred of all time, the first to earn 00,000. The filly has won her only two starts in Canada this year and has boosted her lifetime earnings to 60,590. In 1953 McMacken Stables King Maple made a clean sweep of the richest two-year-old stakes, and the accomplishment brought him the well deserved title. The colt was a consistent campaigner last year and a strong contender for the award a second time. Queens Own, three --year-old son of War Jeep — Sea Reigh, by Reigh Count, concluded his 1954 campaign with a record of nine victories in 13 starts. He was second in three other races, one the result of having been disqualified after leading his field in the Seagram Cup at Woodbine. His lone default out of the money was in the Dwyer Stakes at Aqueduct. He was Canadas leading money-maker with 3,360 and has a lifetime mark of 7,610. Queens Owns record is more remarkable because he was never completely sound. He did not race until . October of his juvenile year and returned from New York with a record of one first and two seconds for four starts. At three he won both the six furlongs and mile and seventy yards divisions of the Plate Trial. He was beaten a head in the Queens Plate, when he was considered to be short after having missed a workout due to injury. He won the Toronto Cup, Breeders Stakes, Prince of Wales Plate and Durham Cup at Woodbine. At Fort Erie, he won the Achievement Stakes and Dominion Stakes, and at Long Branch he accounted for the Goodwill Stakes. Serious recurrence of tendon trouble halted Queens Own prematurely and he was taken out of training late in September unable to complete his schedule. Since then he .has been turned out at Windfields Farms. Owner E. P. Taylor anticipates the colts return to competition for the autumn stakes.
