Presidential Primary Stakes Taken by Adlai Stevenson LAUREL, Md., May 7.— In a special race presented between this afternoons third and fourth events, the- Presidential primary Sweepstakes, involving a half-dozen .stable ponicrs named for Democratic presidential hopefuls, Adlai Stevenson the horse was the winner by a length and one-half over lislefi Krfauver also the horse. Ridden by Vernon Hush in the dash of three-sixteenths of a mile, "Stevenson" broke rather slowly and w«k hard ridden io his victory. Also-rans in the race included Johnson, llarriman, Kusscl and Siyniington. Laurel officials carried the purse as the "Democratic Nomination."
