PATRICK, unhurried in the early stages while racing on the- outside; was sent between horses on the far turn, came on the outside of the leaders after reaching contention and closed stcutly to gain the lead inside the final sixteenth, DECATHLON assumed command-at once, was under stcut restraint cn the turns, opened a clear lead after shaking off the challenge of FLIGHT HISTORY nearing the ftirlcng pete, then was unable to cope with the winner. NANS MINK, never far off the pace and saving ground, rallied along the inside when roused and finished with good energy, i FLIGHT HISTORY was sent a"t the-leader after three furlongs, pressed for command into the stretch and weakened. RADIO ROME was favorably placed and failed to respond when called on. EASTGATE would not extend himself when roused., SKEPTICAL KID went evenly. ITOBE broke alertly, was steadied while racing on the outside and appeared to bolt on the final turn. ILITE weakened. SINGER, fractious at the gate, went in the air at the start and was never a factor. HELIANTHUS broke alertly, was steadied close to the pace, responded to steady pressure in the final quarter mile and was along to edge MARYS BUBBLE in the final yards. The latter opened a clear lead scon after the start, dominated the pace and just missed. COMMODORE M., a forward factor, moved up on the outside under a drive and was pressing the leaders in the final yards. MR. FIRST worked his way up along the inside in an excellent effort. SEVEN CHANCES made up ground in the final stages. HALF SHELL weakened after a mild challenge. ANNS LOVE a trailer until the far turn was unable to threaten. CHUCK THOMPSON was -outrun. MIELLEUX raced close to the-early pace for a half mile and retired steady. ROMAN ROCKET flattened out after six furlongs.
