Honor Quest Earns First Score in Ft. Miami Dash Apprentice Roth Has Filly Home Six Lengths Before Fancy Foot By T. J. MULLIGAN FORT MIAMI, Maumce, Ohio, May 7.— Honor Quest, the roan daughter of On Quest, who started her racing career here at the Fort Miami oval on April 17, broke her maiden when she scampered to a six-length victory in the curtain raiser on this afternoons card. She was appearing under the silks of Connellcy and Hancock for the fourth time in her life and drew away approaching the final turn under the capable handing of apprentice A. E. Roth to return a 4.60 straight mutuel pay-off to the scattered supporters in the crowd who fancied her chances. Fancy Foot was second a half-length in advance of Foray Porter. The track was lightning fast and a slim Monday gathering of 1,800 fans were on hand. The sun shone brightly but brisk winds swept through the plant. Jacklyn, racing in the interests and colors of the T. K. Stable, survived a claim of foul to account for the second race on the agenda, winning by one length over L. E. Davis Hellcat. Jockey R. Faulkner, who was astride Hellcat, lodged a claim I of foul against the winner which the I stewards disallowed. Faulkner attempted to force his mount through too small an . opening along the rail and had to take up I slightly when he realized that he lacked the racing room necessary for Hellcat to get through. I Wrack Play wound up third in the 10-| horse field. Jacklyn was installed as the , public choice at 90 cents to a dollar and negotiated the six furlongs in 1:15% over a pasteboard racing strip. Those who held ! tickets on the son of Jack High were rewarded with a .80 mutuel. Sturdy Lever, performing in the partnership of Mr. and Mrs. R. Hobson, accounted for the third race under the guidance of; jockey Kenney Robertson and paid 0.40 j beating the favored Thats It by one and one-half lengths with Cornell finishing in 1 the third spot. I Spinster, a bay daughter of Gallahadion, , who captured the 1940 Kentucky Derby, shapes up as the arobable winner in tomorrows seventh and featured race on the eight-race program. This aging mare, who races in the colors of R. Neveu, trounced seven other shifty performers here last Friday, scoring by five lengths at one mile and 70 yards over a track termed "good." The lightning fast track in prospect for Tuesday plus the slightly added distance should favor her chances in the hcadliner. Miss Comedy, who finished second to Cribbage here a fortnight ago but was disqualified for interfering with the daughter of Star Beacon in the stretch, looms up as the chief contender. She was beaten only a neck but there is no telling how far she might have won by if no mishap had occurred. Miss Comedy will be saddled by C. F. Davis who is also the owner and jockey Albert Wolfe is the probable pilot. Collins Girl, who belongs to L. E. DavLs. has been knocking at the victory door and may show to good advantage. This thoroughbred is rounding to peak form but seems to fancy an "off" racing strip. She prefers distance events, however, and may take down some part of the spoils. Freedoms Hour, owned and conditioned by Andy Thomas, merits consideration on the strength of his winning essay here two weeks ago and may be a keen factor. The altered son of Four Freedoms has been trainint smartly and a top effort is anticipated, j
