Largest Daily Double Of Meet at River Downs Gleaming Doll and Uncensored Combine to Return 13.60 By W. A. CRUSE RIVER DOWNS, Cincinnati, Ohio, May 30. The largest Daily Double of the six-day-old meeting was recorded here this afternoon when J. Bronnenbergs Gleaming Doll and P. L. Rices Uncensored were returned victorious in the first and second races, respectively. The combined efforts of the two resulted in a 13.60 return. Apprentice R. L. Barnett was up on Gleaming Doll, a six-year-old Quarter Moon mare and, while sending her the six furlongs in 1:12 flat, had a head advantage on E. Amorini and S. E. Walzs Ten-O-Two. The latter, with apprentice Michael Kop-tyra in the saddle, was the strong favorite in the betting and for each nominal win investment, 3.40 was returned. Ironically, Koptyra was again second, but this time as second choice in the betting. Uncensored rewarded his supporters with a 6.20 mu-tuel, and negotiated the mile and one-sixteenth in 1:47 flat. J. D. Weil and H. K. Stevens Mon Far, a decidedly good-looking two-year-old Phar Mon Valdina Fair colt, was victorious in the third affair, a five-furlongs dash for maiden juveniles. The veteran W. D. Lucas was in the saddle and coasted to a three and one-half length lead on their closest opposition. The time for the winners graduation from the non-winners ranks was 1:01 and as second choice in the betting, returned .60, .60 and .80 across the board. The Graphic Arts Stables Debbie Lass was second, as well as the favorite in the wagering. Lucas quickly hit his stride and rode a -consecutive winner in the fourth affair. For the feat, he was astride J. D. Weils Dog Goya and had this aged Goya II. gelding a length and one-half in front of F. D. Lebus Jr.s Red Decanter and jockey Neil Johnson. Mrs. C. Blair and J. C. Wor-mers Last Word was third. The finish of the fourth race was altered because of an inquiry which the stewaids . quickly flashed as the last horse crossed the finish line. In the running, Red De- . canter bore out into Last Word entering the stretch. The ultimate order of placing made Last Word second and Red Decanter" third. Dog Goya also gave trainer H. K. -Stevens a double on the afternoons card.- Six ranking middle distance thorough- . breds comprise Fridays field in the Cincinnati Polo Club Purse. History Book will carry high weight of 120 pounds including jockey Neil Johnson as the horses move postward in the seventh race. T. H. B. Freunghysens seven-year-old gelding is a four-time winner this year, , .the bulk coming on the Florida circuit. Roysie R., racing for C. E. Gibson can not be ignored and is probably the horse " to beat off his showing last Saturday in the Hamilton County Purse. The four- year-old colt finished second to W. L. Curies Mintaway in a stirring stretch duel k after having a length and one-half lead swinging into the stretch. Ralph Wares Brogheda, a three-time i winner last year, has reached the winners circle in Florida and Beulah Park this season and finished second recently in the ,000 Governors Handicap at the Colum- f bus track. The five-year-old gelding will carry 115 pounds. Arbywood Stables Affton King won three races in Florida this spring and cant be overlooked. The four-year-old son of h. Some Chance is in at 112 pounds and will have Cincimiatian Gil Roser in the saddle. Froome Barbours Good and Bad will be seeking this third victoi-y of the season and will be piloted by Dante Ribbo with 112 pounds and the four-year-old altered son of Bold and Bad may be formidable. Rounding out the field is Triple R. Stables Pasta Fazuli who broke her maiden on March 21 at Sunshine Park.
