Boston Doge Nominated For Oceanport Handicap Itobe, Impromptu, Glamour Eying Opening Stakes at Monmouth OCEANPORT, N. J .7 May 30. Boston Doge has been nominated for the 5,000 Oceanport Handicap, opening day feature at Mbnmouth Park, on Tuesday, June 11. A five - year - old son of The Doge, the "Beantown Bullet" registered with ease in his first two races this year, after having been idle since August, 1955, and was a starter in todays Carter renewal at Belmont. Paul Andolinos homebred was unbeaten in 10 starts at two and three until he ran third in the 1955 Swift Stakes. Numbered among his stakes victories were the Hibiscus, Bahamas, Experimental Free Handicap and Governors Gold Cup. Brookfield Farms Itobe and Impromptu were also named for the Oceanport, which is at six furlongs. Harry Isaacs, owner of Brookfield Farm, made his Irate eligible for the Select Handicap. All three of his colorbearers are in the Salvator Mile. Ogden Phipps Glamour and Wheatley Stables Gray Phantom, both trained by "Sunny Jim" Fitzsimmons, were other Oceanport nominations received by racing secretary John Turner Jr. Glamour and Circle M Farms Olympia Dell were nominated for the June 22 Regret Handicap, while Gray Phantom, a consistent handicap performer this year, is eligible for the Long Branch Handicap.
