SWEET WENDY G. gradually, worked her way forward to the stretch, was on the outside for the drive and, closing strongly, wore down ELLIOTTS-GEM in the last seventy yards. ELLIOTTS GEM moved up fast approaching the upper turn, settled for the drive with a good lead but could not withstand the winner. FLINT ROSE raced prominently throughout and had no mishap. THE COLLIER made a bold bid after a half mile but faltered during the stretch run. CALGARY was unable to reach the leaders when set down in the drive. SOME VAMP lacked early foot. HELTOP could not keep up during the stretch run. NORTH PASSAGE began slowly. TOULOUSE raced wide. ANDROB broke sluggishly. CANYON had early foot but failed to stay. GAME CHANCE reached the lead after a half mile, then gave way. GO A BIT had brief speed. OFF AT 1:52 EASTERN DAYLIGHT TIME. Start good. Won driving; second and third the same. ADMIRAL BRUSH moved up fast approaching the stretch, was bothered at the turn when HEATHERTONE swerved, took command from TOP PRICE and, continuing willingly, held JIM BERGER safe. The latter, forwardly placed from the start, responded readily when set down hard during the drive and overcame interference from HEATHERTONE but could not overtake the top one, although much the best of the others. A foul claim by JIM BERGERs rider against ADMIRAL BRUSH was not allowed by the stewards. HICKORY BLUFF, away slowly and outrun to the stretch, closed fast in the middle of the track but could not reach the leaders. PYM gave a good effort and had no mishap. HEATHERTONE raced with TOP PRICE to the stretch, swerved while tiring and was unable to stay with the leaders ROBANDO lacked early foot. AZALEA TOWN was never dangerous. TRAINER BILL was through early. TOP PRICE took an early lead, set the pace until inside the stretch, then gave way. AGAMEMNON showed little. GEORGIAN PRINZ, never far back,-took command from DECORATE entering the stretch and drew clear without need of urging. AT HAND moved up steadily after the start and closed determinedly but could not threaten the top one. SIMON THE BOLD, away slowly and outrun to the stretch, finished fast on the outside but could not overtake AT HAND. DECORATE, a sharp factor from the outset, reached the lead approaching the stretch but faltered during the drive. BUGABOO, on the outside throughout and was never dangerous. NASCO, a sharp factor from the start, responded readily to brisk handling and, disposing of WINNERTAKEALL near the finish, held ROSE TRELLIS safe but won with little left. ROSE TRELLIS gradually worked way forward between horses, drifted to the outside during the final furlong but was getting to the winer at the finish. WINNERTAKEALL, away alertly, reached the lead during "the stretch run but could not retain teh advantage while bearing to the inside. NIGHT HOUR, i never far back, could not reach the leaders when set down hard through the last tighth mile. JESTER gave ; a good performance and had no mishap. SAILORS KNOT lacked early foot, lost ground when sent around horses at the stretch turn and finished willingly when straightened for the drive. MUSTATO stumbled soon after the break and could not reach serious contention. SALAMANCA took an early lead, set the pace to the stretch under pressure from COMMENDATION, then gave way. CHARLIES JOY moved up boldly - on the outside after the initial guarter mile, was kept well out in the track for the stretch run and faltered when neanng the finish. MAN OF DESTINY, far back early, saved ground at the final turn and closed-willingly while racing in close quarters. G-TWO could not keep up after showing early foot.
