i I j ! r. 1 t . i : l i i Omaha Notes AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Neb., May 30. J. C. Martin recently took over the training of Feudal Bar, which races in the interests of himself and his father, F. 7. Martin of Denver, Colo. Until the younger Martins arrival on the local scene the horse had been conditioned by Arnold Todd. Exercise boy Chester Morse sustained a chipped ankle bone when a horse fell with him en route to the track to be galloped. Morse will be sidelined for approximately two weeks. The eight Becker brothers, all of Nebraska, are on hand. Ex-jockey Fritz is training his own horses as well as a public stable. George Becker has four head that campaign in his own silks, while Louis trains the stable belonging to himself and brothers O. R. and J. Becker. Ex-rider Jimmy Fox registered the useful allowance performer, Drafting Room, for owner Tommy Lang of Sioux City, Iowa. Fox- comes here from the recently concluded meeting at Fort Miami, Ohio. Former trainer Jack King is reported ill in the University Hospital at Columbus, Ohio. He will welcome news from this sector, and may be reached in room number 342 at the aforementioned hospital. Ralph E. Boomer and John L. Watkins will fly to Chicago Saturday night to attend the annual election meeting of the Society of North American Racing Officials to be held there Sunday. A recent visitor was former owner Charlie Brown of Topeka, Kan. He will be remembered as having campaigned a modest stable a-t Ak-Sar-Ben in past seasons. Saturday will find Ak-Sar-Ben presenting its second nine-race program of the meeting. The featured event will be the Ak-Sar-Ben Governors Handicap at one mile and seventy yards. The attraction is for three-year-olds and upward and carries a value of ,000. Placing judge Charley Mulaney, under a physicians care for a minor eye ailment , for several days, is once again back on the job full time. Herman Cohen,, president of Pimlico race 1 track, and Mrs. Cohen were the guests of ; the Ak-Sar-Ben management Wednesday r afternoon. The Cohens are en route to the , West Coast.
