Ten sprinters will vie in the ,500 Graybar-Hotpoint Purse here Friday. Hasty House Farms veteran, Pomace, T. A. Grissoms consistent Thievery and Johnston and Blossom Stables speedy Good Gesture head the field for Fridays seven-furlong affair. Walmac Farms due "of Stag Tiie arid Outfielder, H. H. Mundys Colleoni, Lucky Stables Sam .Slick, R. G. Burns Deep Breath, H. F. Krimendahls Yield arid Texas Bulldog, owned by .the estate of the late Sam E. Wilson, complete the field. The Graybar-Hotpoint goes as the sixth race. Chicago fans will be getting their first look at the consistent Thievery, who has finished in the money in each of his 10 starts this year. His record shows four wins, three seconds, and three thirds, and comes off a second two weeks ago behind Dru Away in a seven-furlongs Churchill Downs event in which he defeated Vagabond King. He also ran third in the Pelleteri Handicap last January ajb the Fair Grounds. Won Sportsmans Inaugural Good Gesture goes after his fourth win in 13 starts. The Count Fleet horse was unplaced the last two starts in Sportsmans Park, handicaps, but was victorious in the Sportsmans Park Inagural at six and one-half furlongs over Speed Rouser and Rock Pilot. Before that, he was third to Yield in a Keeneland event. Pomace, one-time Hasty House stakes performer, has been enjoying a good year in high-class claiming ranks, showing three wins and four seconds in nine starts. The latest for the Pilate eight-year-old gelding was a good second behind Dru Away and ahead of Thievery last April at Churchill Downs. Stag Line seems ready for a top-level effort Friday. The Jet Pilot gelding was a-good third here Saturday behind Petes Folly and Almas Heart at six furlongs. It-was his second start this season and he indicated fitness. Yield makes his Balmoral bow. The Roman four-year-colt was fourth last out at Churchill Downs behind Dru Away and Thievery at seven furlongs, the eighth start this year for which he shows two wins, both allowance events. Colleoni also has notched a pair of wins this year. The Nasrullah horse recently finished sixth in his 14th attempt. He has not been to the winners circle since last March at Oaklawn. Deep Breath has been fourth and third in his last two -Balmoral tries, the latest a third Jbehind Shoot Man and Checkered Flag at six furlongs. Sam Slick is winless in 11 starts this year, including a pair of Sportsmans Park overnight handicaps won by King Bebe and Speed Rouser.
