MORDIGAN, far back to the last quarter mile, was sent between horses entering the stretch and, responding to strong handling during the drive, disposed of the leaders in the last sixteenth. INDIAN SMOKE steadily worked his way forward, reached the lead between calls, but was unable to withstand the winner. BRIEF REPORT, in hand to the stretch, closed determinedly in the middle of the track. RING CHAMP raced well the entire trip and had no mishap. ROYAL REVIEW, on the outside approaching the stretch, failed to rally when set down in the drive. PELAGUS began sluggishly DIZZY LADY lacked early foot. APOPHASIS went to the front after three-eighths of a mile, set the pace until inside the stretch, then gave way. GALLITO could not keep up. HUGO YOU GO raced-wide. JAILBREAK had brief speed.
