CROSSLAND raced awkwardly, being under pressure early, settled into smoother stride in the backstretch, came a trifle wide into the stretch but easily disposed of BRINY DEEP and drew out impressively. BRINY DEEP bobbled at the break, recovered to force the pace, then reached the front between calls on teh stretch turn and held on well to best OUR LIA. The latter, unhurried while outrun, closed well through the stretch. COMMODORE CURT faltered when headed. AIR WONDER gave a dull effort under brisk handling. BEAU PILOT faltered when put to pressure. Won ridden out; second and third driving. HEIRLOOM was stoutly restrained until finding room between horses at the headof the stretch, rushed to the front when roused and was ridden out. LAGOON, outrun to the stretch, came around horses and finished well. 0. G. WHIZ could not keep up early but finished well. AMERICAN GEM was brushed by NOBLE BULLET in the drive and weakened. NOBLE BULLET, ridden close by TINTERN on the first turn, set an even pace after reaching the front but swerved when punished and weakened. BEACH was snugly rated and weakened when called upon.
