DARK CONTINENT gradually improved position and, coming outside the leaders into the stretch, was along in the late yards to wear down MR. LAMPASAS. The latter wrested command in the early stretch and, while holding on with good courage, could not resist the winner. LOTASMOKE, outrun early as usual, proved best of the others with a late rally. BLEN SAND rallied into the stretch and then faltered. SPEEDY FOOT could not keep up in the early running. DARK DESTROYER had speed for five furlongs. MRS.
