By Staff Correspondent THISTLEDOWN, North Randall, Ohio, June 25. — Calumet Farms stallion Faultless was the background hero for an estimated Ladies Day crowd of 5,400 here today as he sired a pair of back-to.-back winners to enliven the proceedings over a heavy, trying racing strip that was officially termed muddy. Mrs. J. P. Kriegers Sinus Rhythm, a black son of Faultless from Pulsette, got the proceedings under way as he scored a four and a half lengths victory over J. H. Rouses favored Desse- Rite in the two-year-old race, with Clifford Lusskys Edict a length and a quarter back in third position. Sinus Rhythm was timed in l:024/5 oyer the muddy strip and paid 3.20 under Benny Seridos ride. Haltermen were astute enough to claim both the first two horses for the claiming tag of ,500, with D. W. Shelton taking the winner and Smith and MacDonald claiming Desse Rite. Favorite Scores by Five Followers of the Calumet stallion were in the majority as W. W. Longs Lynbrook reported promptly as the public choice by five lengths over Lountz and Rhodes Court-Me-Too over the mile and a sixteenth route in the next race. Lynbrook, a maiden by Faultless from Daybrook, dominated the running after the first half mile and was kept to mild hand encouragement by apprentice Arthur Sherman. Lynbrook paid .40 and was timed over the route in 1:52%.
