GOLDEN HOST took an early lead,, entered the stretch with a good advantage but was briskly handled during the drive to retain a clear margin to the finish. SWEET BUDDY, away fast, raced nearest GOLDEN HOST throughout but was unable to get to the latter; when set down through the stretch. STORY WANTED gradually worked way forward and closed fast under punishment but could not overtake SWEET BUDDY. NONE SUCH gave a good effort and had no mishap. GILDED LILY raced forwardly placed throughout land had no mishap. ENVITE was unable to threaten the leaders when hard ridden through the stretch. MY TOOTS could not keep up. WHISK TRU was never dangerous. BELL LAP, on the outside throughout, was unable to reach serious contention. BIG IDEAS lacked early foot. HELAMAN showed little. STALWART STEED began sluggishly. I DARE, away slowly, moved up fast after the start and reached serious contention during the initial quarter mile, responded willingly when set down through the stretch and disposed of MR. ANCHOR in the last seventy, yards. The latter, forwardly placed from the outset, settled into the stretch with a clear lead, continued determinedly under brisk handling but could not withstand the top one, although easily best of the others. PILOT JET lacked early foot but finished fairly well under punishment. CHIFFONARD, outrun to the stretch, closed resolutely under urging. HAM BONE began, fast but dropped back immediately after the start. BIG FINALE took command early, set the pace to the stretch but had nothing left for the drive. WISEMAR had brief speed. VALCARIE, forwardly placed from the start, raced NORSEMAID into defeat before entering the stretch and, after establishing a good lead, retained the advantage while under brisk urging. BRAVELY WAVING, away sluggishly, was hustled to reach serious contention and could not reach VALCARIE when set down jthrough the stretch. SWEET WENDY G., outrun early and racing wide, was unable to threaten the leaders during the drive. NORSEMAID raced prominently for a half mile and then weakened. NON STOP was never dangerous and had no excuse. OUR VALDINA could not keep up after beginning alertly. KAREN W., away fast, gave way to NORSEMAID before going a quarter mile, held on fairly well to the stretch and then tired badly. Overweight— Non Stop, 1 pound. Corrected weight— Valcarie, 121. REPARATION steadily worked way forward and finished detterminedly while under punishment. ROLLICK could not reach the leaders during the stretch run. FRAN HOMME lacked early foot and raced wide through the stretch. SUPERB raced nearest BOLD SPLASHES to the stretch but had nothing left for the drive. CHARLES ALIBI tired. KORESTES, in close quarters soon after the break and outrun to the stretch, closed willingly in the middle of the track but could not threaten the winner. MABE CEE raced with BONNET to the stretch and then faltered. PRECIOUS LADY raced*wide at the final turn and could not better her position when set down in the drive. LUCIE MANETTE lacked early foot and drifted out during the stretch run. ISLE OF SHINE could not keep up after displaying early speed.
