Hoopers highly-regarded Alhambra, a son of Olympia and easy winner of his only start, will have 10 opponents as he tries for his initial stakes victory in Wednesdays fifteenth running of the Primer Stakes, following much the same pattern as did his stablemate, Greek Game last year. Chief competition is expected to come from Rockmore Farms Joliet Stakes winner, Leather Button, and Sunny Blue Farms speedy Lincoln Road. Lincoln Road will have a running-mate, Chief Apache, in the five and onehalf furlongs test. T. Allie Grissoms Litte Reaper, Hugh A. Grants Nir Thru, William S. Millers Rellim S. W., the Sam E. Wilson Estates Sams Shipahoy, Paul Shawhans Carrie Louise, L. C. Rothermels King Glade and Tom Settles iittle Skip complete the field. Net Purse of 0,775 to Winner If all 11 start, the race will gross 7,750, and iet the winner 0,775. Alhambra displayed fine speed here last week while launching his career in a five-furlong dash. Setting all his own pace and never under anything but a hand ride from jockey John Heckmann, Alhambra galloped home a four-length winner. Since then Alhambra has worked brilliantly, and on Monday went five-eights in :59ys, handily. Leather Button may make Alhambra hustle every bit of the way Wednesday. The Phar Mon gelding was a fast-stepping four - lengths winner in the Joliet Stakes two weeks ago, his Second straight victory of the Balmoral session at Washington Park. Lincoln Road is another speed horse which has won his last two starts at Balmoral and in his most recent effort he Continued on Page Fortr-Nire Ten to Oppose Alhambra In Primer Stakes Today Leather Button, Lincoln Road Among Rivals at Arlington Park Continued from Page~One scored easily by three and one-half lengths over Carrie Louise. He passed up the Joliet but has been working well for the Primer. Rellim S. W., a ,000 Keeneland purchase, could get no better than third in the Joliet, but he broke poorly and had bad racing luck. He has won two of seven starts. Litte Reaper, along with Leather Button, are the only stakes winners in Wednesdays field. Litte Reaper failed to duplicate the form he displayed in winning the Bashford Manor Stakes at Churchill Downs when he ran tenth in the Joliet. It was his sixth start. Both Little Skip and Carrie Louise come off impressive triumphs. Little Skip defeated Maraja in a Balmoral dash two weeks ago, his second win in nine starts. Carrie Louise, is the only filly in the field. She has not" started since winning easily over Little Skip three weeks ago at Balmoral. Chief Apache was third in his racing bow here last week behind Alhambra and Spy Melody. Both Nir Thru and Sams Shipahow registered Balmoral victories recently. Both, however, were unplaced here last week behind Maraja at five furlongs. King Glade has won two of 12 -outings, and will be making his first stakes start.
