CLOUD NINE held a menacing position without being hurried, saved ground into the stretch, then was deterred when V.S.O.P. altered his course during the drive. Nelsons claim of foul against the winner was allowed. COLONY MENU weakened after having forced the pace. MID RIVER failed to threaten. SOPHIES JOY could not keep pace. BANNED was outrun.
