— — ■ 1 Fourteen Compete In Juvenile Prep Murray Canyon Takes On Uranium Dream, Mr. Burton, Flashy Token at Ak-Sar-Ben By DEAN WILLIAMS AK-SAR-BEN, Omaha, Nebr., June 25.— Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Goodmans Murray Canyon and 13 of the tracks ranking two-year-olds will take the spotlight in Wednesdays Juvenile Prep. The ,000 allowance test is preview to next weeks seventh liinning of the ,000 added Juvenile Stakes. This will be the second time Murray Canyon has carried the orange and black silks of Mr. and Mrs. Goodman postward at Ak-Sar-Ben. He made his first appearance over the local course the second week of the meeting, in which he was beaten a head by Miche Claire. The son of Bymea-bond and Diamond Miss had just come from Bay Meadows where he had-won the-0,000 Bay Meadows Futurity. He was asked to carry 122 pounds off of that stakes victory which may have resulted in his defeat. In his second appearance at Ak-Sar-Ben he has been assigned 119 pounds, and will be ridden by Harry Mc-Gahan. Holds Victory Over Miche Claire Flashy Token, a winner of five races this year, handed W. J. Lewis Jr.s Miche Claire his first defeat in three starts at Ak-Sar-Ben last Tuesday. The J. Kel Houssels gelding came from behind over the heavy track to gain a two-length victory over the Lewis juvenile. This was the most impressive victory of his career and his performance in the Ak-Sar-Ben Prep-will, be watched with interest. Uranium Dream, owned by Jack Harrell, also defeated the highly regarded Miche Claire in his last out in Omaha. The gray son of Gray Dream and Lula June, was In second place behind Flashy Token, and was only beaten a half length. He, in turn, was a length in front of Miche Claire. This effort by Uranium Dream must also be considered the best of his short racing campaign. Mr. Burton won the first division of the Ak-Sar-Ben Futurity in easy fashion by six and one-half lengths. The Nebraska-bred son of Harbourton had little trouble in gaining his triumph in the homebred stakes. This will be the first time the M. H. VanBerg juvenile has been asked to race against open competition, which should reveal his true worth. The others who have been named to compete in the Ak-Sar-Ben Prep are Butch Wyatt, Land-O-Zeve, Chalalor, Gal-ant Parcel, Just-A-Dream, My Indus, Eye Fair, Humpahead, Clara Knight and Tonys Folly. The seventh race, which will be run as the co-feature on the afternoons eight-race program, has been named the Skyliner Purse. The. race is named in honor of a large group of Kansas City airline pilots, and hostesses who will be on hand to view the afternoons festivities at Ak-Sar-Ben.
