Benedicto Returning to Competition In Adolescents Purse at Hazel Park Equaled Track Record in * Last Start at Meet; Has Nagol, Johns Bid to Beat By BUD LYON HAZEL PARK, Mich., June 25. — The Adolescents Purse, a six-furlong dash for two-year-olds under allowance conditions and for a purse of ,000, heads Wednesdays program and a field of nine juveniles, representing seven interests, have been named overnight for the test. The Adolescents will mark the return to competition locally of Mrs. Anthony Bel-lardis Benedicto, who in his last start, here equaled the four-furlong track record. Arrayed against the altered son of Fighting Fox will be Ed Grosfields entry of Johns Bid and Steel Pick, O. G. Ranchs pair of Grand Suspense and Sun King, Robert Storyes Queen Sal, Dan Logans Nagol, Grace Kosibas Satin Parasall and Kenneth Burkharts Hungry Dream. Benedicto was shipped to Chicago soon after his track-record performance and tried against stakes company in the Joliet Stakes at five and one-half furlongs. The Walter Coleman-trained juvenile held up well in open competition for he finished second some four lengths behind the winner, Leather Button, with the time being fast, 1:05%, considering the "good" condition of the racing strip. The Bellardi colorbearer, a ,500 purchase out of last summers sales ring, won his maiden race here on the third day of the meeting while skipping to an easy three and one-half lengths victory, reaching the end of four furlongs in :49, over a track labeled as "good." Coleman then brought his charge back nine days later and this time witnessed him again emerge an easy winner at the same distance while equaling the course record of :47. Benedicto strolled under the line of finish well in hand sme four and one-half lengths before Nagol, who would have to be considered as the most serious threat .tomorrow to the Bellardi star. Johns Bid is the only other winner at the meeting in the field with the altered son of Johns Joy earning his maiden victory at four furlongs early in June. The youngster came from far off the pace that afternoon to register a driving victory at the expense of Quick Dollar in :48.
