Modesty Handicap Closes For Nominations Today IIOMEWOOD, 111., May 2.— Balmoral president Hubert E. Howard today reminded horsemen that nominations close Saturday night at midnight May 3 for the 0,000 added Modesty Handicap for fillies and mares, scheduled to be run Saturday, May 17, at Washington Park. The Modesty, a 6-furlong sprint, is the first of, a series of distaff events scheduled to be run during the 97-day coordinated Arlington Park-Washington Park-Balmoral meeting. Balmoral opens Monday, May 12, with 30 days of the 48-day Washington Park stand, to be followed by 49 days at Arlington Park, July 7 through September 1.
