Held and Leigh Working On Pre-Meet Details at Ascot CRANWOOD PARK, Warrensville Heights, Ohio, May 19. — B. H. "Brownie" ■ Held was an early morning visitor to the racing secretarys office at this plant and, with Raleigh Leigh, is gradually ironing out the pre-opening details for the Ascot Park meeting. Cranwood Park will close its doors on the spring meeting Saturday, May 31, and the Ascot Park Jockey Club will open on June 3 for a 44-day session, giving the racing fans a one-day rest. The affable "Brownie" will take up his post as racing secretary as soon as he finishes his duties at Beulah Park and he is no newcomer to this area as a racing official. In fact, he was the-first racing secretary licensed by the Ohio state racing commission and, as he puts it, "That is longer ago than I care to think about."
