SHOWMAN, rated in close attendance of the pace for five-eighths, moved up on the outside entering the" stretch, wore down the leaders and was drawing clear at the end. GOLIDIAN sprinted into command at once, was rated along in the lead, held on well in the drive, but was not good enough; CONACHER, slow to settle in his best stride, came to the outside entering the stretch and closed a good gap. SMOKE RING, fractious at the post, broke fast around the outside, followed close to the pace, closed stoutly in the stretch run and was up in the final stride. SOPHRON, always close to the leaders on the outride, took command in the stretch and just failed to last. BATON DAMOUR saved ground all the way on the inner rail, but tired when the real test came. FORESIGHT broke in motion, raced head and head with the leaders to the stretch, then quit. WEE TODDLER II. had speed and needed the effort. THUNDER LIGHT closed a big gap. SUNCIRCLE TRAIL forced the pace most of the way, but tired in the final drive. THUNDERDROP had early speed, but tired badly. REDWICK was outrun. MARY PITTSTON was away slowly and trailed the field. SQUEAKY had the early speed, drew into a clear lead entering the stretch and weakened in the final drive. MAGGIE LOVE, unruly at the start, raced evenly and was unable to reach the leaders. VISIONARY HOUR, well placed throughout, had no mishaps. WILD LAUREL went evenly. LORD DEAN had early speed and tired badly. JOLLY GAL set the early pace, then quit.
