Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. WORLD OVER came fast on the outside in the stretch to take a short lead near the end and hold CLOSE CALL. The latter was closest to MISS DALLAS in the early running and, going strongly to the finish, barely missed. FANDAN was going gamely at the end. MISS DALLAS opened a good lead while racing under restraint in the early part and entered the stretch well in advance of the others, but tired and was crowded near the end. GOLDEN MISSION, showing much improvement over his last race, went to the front when ready after entering the stretch and drew out to win easily. CARBINES COMET went to the front early to open up a good lead while making the pace but tired and could not resist the winner. LIGHT ZEPHYR was in close quarters going to the first turn and, although hard ridden, could never reach the leaders. ON THE GO showed a fair turn of speed.
