DRIFT ALONG, suited by track conditions and much -the: best, forced the early pace under strong restraint, came around PELTER gradually after reaching the final quarter and drew out fast in the last eighth. .PELTER, on the inside throughout had good speed from-the start, was under pressure after" three-eighths, and held on. well, though no match for the winner. SLIM ROSIE, away fast, drew clear gradually in the first quarter, was steadied on the turn and, continuing well after increasing her advantage as NEDROW ran out entering the stretch, held WATERCURE safe. The latter, under strong urging from the start, came out slightly in the stretch and, holding on" with determination, was getting to the winner. INSCONA began fast but dropped back on the stretch turn and, after coming again weakly in the stretch, faltered in the closing stages. THE REW closed strongly. SNEAKIN raced wide. WAR GLORY forced the early pace under restraint, took command when called upon and held on well, though swerving out, but could not withstand the winner. MISS SAXON, in hand early, dropped back on the stretch turn but rallied mildly in the stretch only to falter near the end. BLACK RIVER tired after showing speed to the stretch. WARFELLOW, away fast but unable to keep up, raced wide throughout and tired after moving up in the stretch, but held HOSE safe. The latter tired in the final quarter. ARMY AND NAVY was outrun. BOHEMIAN LASS, never far back and under occasional rousing, offered a bid on the stretch turn, but then tired. WESTERN RUN had early speed, but tired after three-quarters. KNEE ACTION forced the early pace under steadying hold, disposed of MEMPHIS LASS when straightened out in the home stretch, opened a good lead approaching the eighth post, then tired and just failed to last. FAIR BOY, outrun for a half mile and on the inside, closed well when put to pressure. AMIJO, on the outside throughout, moved up strongly after seven-eighths, then tired.
