MUDDY AT RIVERSIDE PARK Cool Weather Responsible for Appearance of Top Coats Flodnr Easy Winner of Opener. KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 9. The midweek offering, at Riverside Park was made up of eight well-balanced races and while the fields were small in the majority of the events, interesting sport resulted. Cool breezes swept through the stands, and for the first time during ,the meeting topcoats appeared among the large crowd. The track was still muddy from the excessive rains and slow time resulted. Making a show of her opponents, Flodur, odds-on choice, easily accounted for the first race when at the end of the six furlongs she finished seven lengths In the van of the Summit View Stables Westport, which held on gamely to take second place from Bob Bruce. The winner was ridden, by D. Morgan and was held at 1 to 2 In the donations.
