I LONG BRANCH TURF NOTES f s- Mrs. Ian Bowies Winon, a carded starter in the third Tace Wednesday, was withdrawn by the stewards when it was found impossible to load her in a van and bring her from the Woodbine course to Long Branch. Apprentice Robert Bateman, tinder contract to Harry Giddings of the Parkwood Stable, accepted his lirst mount when he piloted the stables Green Iris in the third event Wednesday. Bateman "was champion boy show ring rider of Canada for the past two .years and has been in the employ of Giddings for some time. All winners at the Lake Shore course will be subjected to the saliva .test -and any other contestants which the track veterinarian Dr. A. E. Melhuish may call on. The test is agriculture and the tests will be taken by Dr. E. Salisbury -and the analysis made by under the Kupervision of the department of Professor G. H. L Lucas.
