VELLAS CHOICE, close up from the start and lucky to get through on the inside at the stretch turn, took a slight lead when straightened out, but could not withstand the winner. PAWN TICKET improved its position steadily, came between horses in the stretch and showed a good effort MARLIE MAY displayed good speed away from the gate, swung wide at the stretch turn, carrjmg Mibb ADAMS out, and continued gamely when straightened out. OUR WILLIE began tardily, worked his way up steadily under good handling and closed strong. GEO. GABLE was rushed into the lead quickly, set a swift pace, but tired in the final eighth. NOMA F. showed high speed from the start, opened up a good lead quickly, but tired after five-eighths. LONE CLOUD raced evenly throughout. KITTYS RIVAL was through after a half mile. GLASSY EYE acted badly at the gate, broke slowly, moved into contention rapidly and held on well. TOP GLIDE set the pace under light restraint for three-quarters, then tired. DIXIE BOOT made up some ground after being far back. BALLAH was through after forcing the pace for three-quarters. Overweight Dixie Boot, 1 pound.
