SWIVEL NECK was outrun for the first three-eighths, began bettering his position in the last five-sixteenths, went into contention with a rush and, taking the lead in the stretch, drew out steadily in the last eighth. AIRY SONNET, in close pursuit of the pace, fought it out with good energy to the end. CLARKIE was reserved for the first half-mile, came to the outside in the stretch and closed gamely. HALO displayed good speed in pacemaking, but faltered badly after reaching the stretch. FIRING SQUAD was going stoutly at the end. LATERAL PASS trailed for the greater part of the trip but unleashed a burst of speed through the stretch and was going fastest of all at the end. STAROGAN took command in the opening strides, opened up a daylight advantage over her closest pursuer and was rnv t her company for the first half miIe but was unable to keep pace with the winner when challenged. vrbniTOMv11 closest pursuit of the early pace and held on well, but was no match for the top two. KEEP CHERRY was far back early, went into contention with a rush, but was unable to make up any appreciable ground in the final drive. BRIGHT DON closed some ground over tiring horses. PARALDA was permitted to settle into his stride, was far back early and Closed a good gap. MY BOSS was unable to reach the leaders. HANDCUFF, outpaced early, came with good speed on the inside through the stretch run. STAGE BEAUTY was well placed, but unable to make up any ground, and was placed under punishment. MIXWELL, reserved while holding to a forward position, moved up willingly when called upon, gained a slight lead when reaching the stretch and holding on willingly, just failed to last, long enough. PERCENT, badly outrun early, remained far back until the last eighth, closed with a rush on the outside, getting up in the final stride to gain the show. DREEL, away slowly, was hard ridden to enter into contention and, after looming up menacingly inside the last eighth, tired from his early efforts in the last few strides. INFINATA, away alertly, was unable to keep pace. ALL FORLORN quit badly after cutting out a fast pace for almost the first five-eighths. LADY BEWITHUS was in close pursuit of the early pace, but faltered after going a half mile. CLOCKS raced In four bandages and was far back throughout. ASTRA was well placed throughout, recovered gamely after suffering interference from the winner and closed willingly. NAPIER lodged a claim of foul which was allowed. JESSIE V. L. went to the front nearing the stretch, tiring in the last three-sixteenths and barely lasted to hold WITLESS safe. THISTLE AIR trailed far back but closed with a belated burst of speed. BLESSED EVENT was steadied back off the pace, moved up fast when nearing the stretch and, coming through on the inside of the leaders, drew out steadily after taking command. FELWYN avoided the early pace, responded gamely to punishment and closed determinedly. GALLIC went to the front on the inside, was under stout restraint while showing the way and had nothing left with which to meet the bids of the first two when called upon.
