VILLA BANQUET GRADUATES Eight-Yeax-Old Maiden Wins and Pays 3.20 for at Omaha Big Fields Compete. OMAHA, Neb., June 9. Larger fields took part in the races at Ak-Sar-Ben field this afternoon. Eleven horses participated in the running of each of the first four races and the remaining three events were well filled. The track was fast and the weather quite cool. The largest pay-off of the meeting was registered when Villa Banquet, an eight-year-old maiden, won the opening event and paid 3.20. The mare was in the field and after showing speed from the start, took a short lead In the stretch and held safe Keen Gloaming and Clarice McClain, a pair of well-backed ones. Three jockeys arrived at Ak-Sar-Ben field Tuesday and will soon get into action. They are Sidney Hebert, a veteran rider, and E. Ramsey and E. Nelson. The latter will ride for the Peacock Stable. Barry Whitehead, racing secretary at Del Monte, California, passed through Omaha today en route to Chicago. Whitehead reports that the Del Monte meeting, which was a non-profit affair, was quite successful and plans are being made to hold a bigger meeting next season.
