DETROIT BARS LUCKY FOOT Dr. L. H. La Fond Reports Horse Is Nearly Blind and Menace to Jockeys Riding Him. DETROIT, Mich., June 14. On a report from Dr. D. H. La Fond, veterinarian, to the stewards that the horse Lucky Foot is suffering from near-blindness, the racing secretary has been instructed not to receive any further entries of the horse. Lucky Foot bolted into the fence immediately after the start of the seventh race last Thursday, unseating jockey Frank Grill and then when running loose, bolted through the fence at the clubhouse turn. As the horse is dangerous to the lives of any riders who might be put on him, the matter has been reported to the racing commission so that it may get into the. records of the National Board of Racing Commissioners. The stewards have also made a local ruling against the horse Luxuro and notified trainer W. E. Coburn that no entries will be received until he has found some way of equipping the horse that will keej him from running out in races. The last time the horse started he kept bearing to the outside all the time, which makes him run inconsistently. Trainer Coburn was notified that the horse must be worked between races for the benefit of the stewards so as to be sure of his running true in the future.
