SPARKLING, on the outside of the leaders from the start, held on well to the end. NOBLE SCOT, was blocked after the break but-.could not menace the leaders under urging when clear. SPA MADNESS closed some ground under urging. DOHOEV raced evenly throughout. ELLABEE was outrun from the start. FLY ME floundered in the going. Won driving; second and third the same. BITTER BERRY, close up from the start, saved ground all the way, came again under pressure in the final eighth and outgamed MELODIANA at the end. The latter improved her position steadily on the outside, responded to urging in the stretch run but hung after assuming command inside the- final sixteenth. FLY-AHEAD showed speed from the start, raced WULFSTAN into defeat but. -bore out in the final sixteenth. BET A MILLION, a forward factor from the start, had no mishaps in the running. UALLNO dropped back at the far turn, then was unable to menace the leaders. GOLDEN COIN was outrun from the start. WULFSTAN. quit badly. COLIN LAD propped at the break and was as good as left. DEPEND, in nearest, pursuit, of the early pace,- made a determined bid rounding the turn, then faltered. PEGGY BYRNE raced greenly and lost ground at the turn. SKIPPED had no mishaps. MOON SIDE was outrun the first part, but improved his position steadily on the inside, was blocked inside the eighth post, took up, came to the outside and finished with a rush. CYCLE slipped through on. the inside rounding the stretch turn, moved into command when ready and held on gamely under urging. ABNER dwelt slightly at the start and was outrun the first part, moved up in the stretch, but -could not menace the leaders at the end.
