JOCKEY COOPER ON PROBATION Omaha Stewards Lift Suspension on Rider Also Permit Lo Turco to Ride for Sorbet. OMAHA, Neb., June 14. Ak-Sar-Bsa opened another week of racing this after noon before a crowd of about 4000 persons, including a number of out-of-town folks here in conyentio.n and to visit the Ak-Sar-Ben Den show, which is staged every , Monday night. .A heavy rain Saturday night; dampened the track considerably but track superintendent James Ronin had the course in fairly good condition for Mondays racing. The" stewards handed down two rulings Monday. They restored jockey R. G. Cooper to good standing but put him oh probation, and notified jockey A. Lo Turco that he would only be permitted to accept mounts for his. contract employer, S. Gorbet. The Hotel Greeters now in convention in Omaha, will have their day at the track Wednesday afternoon when the feature race will be named in their honor. The- winning owner will be presented -with a trophy by Daniel Craford of Pittsburgh, president of the greeters association. The trophies being presented to the owners of handicap winners at the track are of bronze.
