CALL OFF CALIENTE STAKE ,00,0 Race at: Border Track Cant celed to Avoid Conflict With. -; Del Mar Attraction. AGUA CALIENTE,. Mexico, June 14. General manager Eugene Nprmile made the following -statement at Agua Caliente Saturday to horsemen in regards to racing at Caliente during the month of July. "After consulting with Bing Crosby at the Del Mar track, and horsemen at both tracks, it was decided to call off the ,000 Independence Day Handicap scheduled to be run at Agua Caliente Sunday, July 4. It is our intention to cooperate with Mr. Crosby how and in the future to the fullest extent. In view of the fact that their inaugural handicap is run on July 3rd and ours on July 4th, both at a mile and one-sixteenth, it is obvious that there are not enough high-class horses to fill both handicaps. We are cooperating by calling off our handicap and distributing this money in, our purses during the month of -July. The minimum purse will be 00, with $.1,000 and ,500 features each Sunday."
