JERRY FLIRT was closest to DOMINANT STAR in the early running and, easily catching the latter in I the stretch, had enough left to hold PARADE STEP. The latter lacked his usual early speed, but finished fast and was gaining. DOMINANT STAR tired badly in the last eighth. EASY BID showed some early speed. SAFE PORTE came fast under hard riding after entering the stretch and, wearing down SCRIP MONEY, won in a drive. SCRIP MONEY, taken up at the start, dropped back to last place, was then sent from last to first place between the far turn and the stretch turn and did not haveenough left to hold the winner. ANNA V. L. was badly outrun all the way. MAH GRANT showed a very weak effort, being unable to keep up with the early pace and quitting badly in the stretch.
