DEVILS MATE, in the middle of the pack at the start, soon sprinted clear and was rated in front to dominate the running to the end. FRANCINE C, away fast and prominent throughout, continued with good courage to the finish. LOVICK was unable to keep up early, worked his way up steadily and, although finishing gamely, was unable to endanger the leaders. TIGHTMOUTH was hard ridden while following in near attendance of the early pace, and tired after making his bid nearing the stretch. MINTSON was unable to nter into serious contention. GOLD COLOR was unable to close any ground. MOBCAP was in close quarters early and unable to improve her position when clear. HI BEN was outrun. LADY HOCKBERGER went to the front in the first sixteenth, drew into a good, lead and dominated the running to the end. SHANTIME was well up throughout, and held on with good energy in the closing drive. SPEEDY SKIPPY came willingly on the inside through the last sixteenth. FOOLEM, away slowly, closed an immense gap. CHARMED EYES was hard ridden during the first half mile in an effort to reach the leaders, but retired steadily in the last three sixteenths. SAINTED had brief early speed. WITSON was far back, came wide into the stretch and was unable to make up any ground. DON MANUEL was taken under steadying restraint and did not start to better his position until rounding the far turn, moved up steadily, wore down the leaders without apparent effort and had speed in reserve at the end. LOLOMA was well placed throughout, wore down MISS LEANNAH for the lead and held on well to the end, although no match for the winner in the closing drive. NIPANTUCK, restrained early, came willingly in the stretch run. MISS LEANNAH was quickest to begin, opened up a long early lead, but tired after going a half mile. MORPHEUS was never prominent, passing horses through the stretch. ABBOTS LAST was far back throughout. AUNTIE PEYTON had speed for the first five-eighths. BLUE SPUR tired in the last three-eighths. SOUND ADVICE was slow to begin and far back for the first half mile, swung to tho outside when reaching the stretch and, closing stoutly, was up in the closing strides to wear down BOSTON MARY. Tha latter was reserved early, moved up fast in the stretch, wore down BLACK HIGHBROW and just failed to hold on long enough. BLACK HIGHBROW moved up steadily after rounding the far turn, went into an easy lead but was unable to cope with the closing bids of the first two. SUN CAPTURE displayed good early ipjed, tiring slightly in the last three-sixteenths. UPSIDE DOWN was unable to reach the leaders. VOTE BOY tired under pressure after reaching the stretch. BROWN PRODIGY, prominent all the way, held on with good energy to the close. CAREFUL MISS was unable to reach the leaders. AERO forced the pace for the first three-quarters, tiring thereafter. SIGHTING BAR had speed from the start, raced JESSIE V. L. into submission, although unable to cope with the bid of the winner. PASS SHOT moved up gradually when leaving the back stretch, loomed up menacingly at the stretch turn but hung in the drive. SUN ABBOT was unable to reach the leaders and faltered after making his effort midway of the turn. MY BOSS was unable to close any ground under pressure. JESSIE V. L. quit after going three-quarters.
