AQUEDUCT TURF NOTES Mrs. George P. Odom, daughter-in-law of the well-known trainer, died suddenly Sunday evening at her home in Garden City, Long Island. She was recently discharged from a local hospital following treatment for bladder trouble. Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Odom entertained visitors, and her husband, bidding his guests good-night, re- turned to the living room and found his wife dead on the floor. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. i Walter Taylor will take the three-year-old Pasha to Delaware Park to race in the Kent Stakes. Bright News and Mischief Time, owned by the Natoma Stable, were picked up Sunday .by trainer Tommy Taylor and placed back in training. Jockey R. Merritt suffered a lacerated eye when he took his mount up sharply in the t opening race Monday to avoid going down. Dan Japhet, well known Texas sportsman, j arrived from Houston for a few days racing, j George Bull returned from a wek-end visit I to Saratoga Springs and reported that the ! plant is in ideal condition. C. V. Whitneys The Chief will be reserved for Saratoga racing. He was a winner of his last two starts. Three two-year-olds, owned by the Calumet Farm, arrived from Chicago in charge of John OBrien. J. H. Whitneys Inhale was returned to Belmont Park from Chicago. Jockey Earl Steffen is due here Tuesday to ride. He rode at Washington Park Saturday. J. W. Healey returned from Chicago, where he saddled Inhale in the Princess Pat Stakes. Dawn Play, owned by the King Ranch, will be shipped to Chicago on Wednesday and start in the American Derby. She will be ridden by jockey Le Blanc. George Brown was a visitor from Agawam Park. He will leave there in time to reach Delaware Park, where he will serve as a steward for the inaugural meeting at the Wilmington track.
