NEW DELAWARE PARK Predict Ten Starters In 0,000 Added Kent Handicap. Flying Scot Top Weight With 122 Pounds in Saturdays Opening Day Stake Attraction. STANTON Del., June 24. At least ten starters are expected in the 0,000 added Kent Handicap, which will feature the inaugural program Saturday of the New Delaware Park. Among them are Mrs. C. Oliver Iselins Strabo, recent winner of the Dwyer Stakes, and John Hay Whitneys Flying Scot, victorious in the Withers. Flying Scot will be the starting top weight with 122 pounds, and he will be called upon to give four pounds to Strabo in the mile and one-sixteenth event. The other contestants will come from among the lower weights, with Pasha and Swahili each to carry 111 pounds. Riparian, 110; Ptolemy and Knights Plume, 109 each; Scrooge, 108; Rex Flag, 105; Jackie D., 107; Little Sleeper, 103, and Parmenarch, 102 pounds. Except for work of a minor nature the plant was in readiness today for the opening. Some painting was being completed,, while chairs and benches were placed in order. The Harry M. Stevens organization is in full force so as to be operating at full efficiency on Saturday, while Herman Frank, the chief lieutenant of general manager Edward Burke, called the roll of the mutuel department and gave instructions as to the operation of the totalizator. STABLES FILLING UP. The Delaware Park stables are filling rapidly, the most important arrival today being that of the Tranquillity Farm stable of H. H. Cross, Chicago sportsman. Coming in two cars, the shipment arrived from Washington Park in charge of trainer E. L. Snyder. Basil James, sensational rider, under contract to the stable, is due Saturday to accept mounts, his first in the East. One of the most important establishments here is that of Glen Riddle Farms, headed by War Admiral. The three-year-old champion appears in fine condition, but trainer George Conway still is limiting the colts daily exercise to walking and will not venture an opinion when he will be ready for work under saddle again. Warrior Queen, Firing, Hise and Shine, Great Gun, All Afire, First Alarm, War Camp and War TaiL. An earlier arrival from Washington Park was the stable of Frank A. Carreaud, in charge of trainer Ted Horning. Eleven horses were in the shipment, which was headed by the veteran War Glory. Others were Chaman, Parmenarch, Time Me, Archduke, Cavallone, Bakerstown, Chardash, Evening Time, Ophelia, and Virginia Miss. NOW THEN BEST. Now Then, the two-year-old which impressed greatly in his debut at Belmont Park, tops seven horses James Healy has here for Mrs.. F. A Clark and F. J. Buchanan. The son of Dis Done was purchased by Buchanan from, Mrs. Clark for a reported sum of 2,000. His stablemates are Nathan Hale, Mindoli, Snap Wrack, Glenour, Me-f elda and Hour Bright. Selby Burch arrived from Belmont Park with the horses he has. for T. XL Somerville, Christiana Stable,. Nate B. Spingold, Mont-pelier Stud, Mrs. C. Friendly and J. D. Cohn. They include Treford, Flat Lance, Sun An-tioch, Brook, Deloraine, Mr. Deeds, Far North, Thistle Flower, Flying Lance, Efface, Jacola, Hunting Home, San Antioca and Enamor. Herman Conkling, who will serve as one. of the stewards, was an arrival from Boston, where; he held a similar position at Suffolk Downs. John P. Turner has had the racing secretarys office open, all. week. Assisting him are John P. Turner, Jr., and James Ross, Jr. Jesse Bennett has been appointed head of the jockeys- room and was busy lining up the valets to work during the meeting. "Happy" Gordon will be the man in the red coat leading the fields to the post and catching runaway horses.
