NATIONAL was blocked after rounding the turn, slipped through on the inside of KATYDID, then faltered. GOLD HAT showed early speed but quit under pressure at the end. FLYING FALCON showed speed from the start, jumped well and had no mishaps. GRAIN DE CAFE was in close quarters rounding the first turn but improved his position slowly when clear and outlasted RUTH WRACK. The latter, a forward factor, was jumping well and had no mishaps. LITTLE HURD was outrun the first part. JOLIE KNIGHT showed a good effort. SUPER ULTRA faltered at the end. KNOCKNAMOOR had no mishaps. VIGILANCE was outrun. URFE faltered badly, then pulled up lame. CLOUDY WEATHER had no mishaps. PUTZEN dropped back after the break but came again at the end. NIPPONESE had no excuses. WANTARUN was outrun and could not improve its position. QUEL JEU was placed on the outside of the stalls and broke back of his field, moved into contention fast and was taken under restraint, responded when called upon, disposed of ONRUSH and drew away. The latter was a forward factor from the start, was placed under severe pressure in the stretch, but could not stall off the rush of the winner. COEQUEL showed a flash of early speed and had no mishaps in the running. SUNPORT finished well on the outside. TWICE was in close quarters after the start. HOOPS began slowly.
