PATSYETTE, away fast and saving ground throughout, continued gamely under vigorous shaking up in the closing stages and outstayed PAT C. The latter, close up throughout, but forced wide entering the stretch, closed with a rush when straightened out. PRECURSOR lost considerable ground while working his way up and showed a good effort. MOHAWK CHEROKEE faltered in the final eighth. GOLD THORN had no excuses. BIG DAVE showed brief early speed, but was eased up in the final eighth and was slightly I lame. ROCKY ROAD, kept well up from the start, responded readily to strong urging in the final three-sixteenths, wore down RAPID SWEEP in the last seventy yards and drew clear. The latter, a keen factor throughout and saving ground, assumed the lead momentarily in the last eighth, but could not withstand the winner. PAMEIOB began slowly, worked its way through the field and closed strongly. KING PRESTON broke swiftly from an inside position, set a good pace for a half mile, then tired. DEFT was unable to keep up. SCISSOR DAN broke sluggishly, was taken to the inside and made up ground in the final quarter. STRAIGHT THRU tired. THIRD RACE S-4 MILE Out of Chute. The latter forced the pace under light restraint and, responding to urging in the stretch, was slowly gaining on the winner near the end. THORNBY, never far back and showing some improvement, held on well. WISE CROSS made up some ground. RAMROD was blocked as he attempted to get through approaching the stretch and dropped back. BIG GAWK forced the pace most of the trip, but tired slightly in the final quarter. MARIE JEAN was in close, quarters and forced back when trying to slip through on the rail.
