MOSTLY, shuffled back in the early crowding and raced widethe final half mile, rallied stoutly after reaching the last quarter and wore down GLASSY EYE in the closing strides. The latter, rank at the post, caused some crowding as he swerved when moving up in the first three-eighths, drew into a good lead after coming around the leaders in the stretch and held on fairly well, but was not good enough. POLARIS had fine speed from the start, but began to tire after five-eighths. WITTY LASS closed fast. WHATA QUESTION suffered from interference. BIRDS EYE quit. ALLEGORY started from outside the stall gate. ALERGY showed early speed. ARIANNA had ,z rough trip. DICKS PAL was taken back at the start and, lacking speed, was far back throughout. ZORANA, away fast and saving ground throughout, gradually increased her advantage on the turn, continued strongly in the final eighth where she was vigorously shaken up and probably had little left. THE DARB, well up from the start and placed to mild urging after a half mile, held on gamely. FULL UP, under steady restraint for a half mile, swerved out slightly when entering the stretch and bore -over when holding on well in the last eighth. REGARDS closed "fast on the outside. POLANTE SETH was on the inside in- the stretch and held on fairly well. HALLIARD could not improve his position. PETTY TAW, away slowly when his rider was caught napping, worked his way up on the inside but faltered after five-eighths. HAROLD H., forced to race wide, could not reach the leaders under pressure. TAXES, unable to keep up early and inclined to bear in throughout, responded strongly after reaching the final quarter, had to be straightened up several times as he came around the leaders and, after getting up bore over when drawing out. MAR LE displayed high speed from the start, saved ground throughout and, while unable to hold -the winner, raced with good courage to the end. DETROIT BULL, under light restraint early, was. stoutly persevered with in the stretch and tired in the final eighth. JOHN ONE was outrun. PEDANT began very slowly and raced wide early. ME O MY, under mild restraint for a half mile, gradually worked his way to the front under strong hand riding in the stretch and, while tiring badly, managed to stall off SILVER BRAID. The latter, probably much the best and blocked approaching the turn, bore in badly on the stretch turn and again soon after reaching the final quarter, then came with good speed after coming put in the final eighth and was rapidly wearing down the winner. HOOK IT, unable to keep up early, closed strongly. DENBIGH cut out a terrific pace and gave way badly after five-eighths. PRUM quit. BUSY MAE had no mishaps. DOKAS, blocked on the turn, saved ground entering the stretch and closed resolutely. EXPONENT finished boldly in his good performance. SUN TRYST pulled up sore. YELLOW TULIP, never a great distance back and inclined to bear in, held on well. OUR COUNT, under a confident ride and away fast, was eased back when in close quarters before leaving the chute, was rated under steady restraint to the stretch, improved his position steadily under mild pressure and outgamed ORINOCO in the last fifty yards. The latter, reserved off the pace under strong restraint, responded well when called upon and fought it out stubbornly to the end, though he was not good nough. PALAMEDE, slow to begin, moved up menacingly after reaching the stretch, but tired in the last sixteenth. BRANDON PRINCE raced well. FLYING BREEZE was through after three-quarters. CRIMSON, taken back repeatedly during the first mile, rallied only mildly, yet held on well and wore down ARTFUL SHOT in the closing strides. The latter made the early pace under restraint, was placed to pressure after reaching the last three-eighths, held on well to the final eighth and pulled up lam.
